Home to red squirrels, Loweswater is a serene small lake and the walk after the frequent rains to Holme Force Falls is the experience of a lifetime.
Buttermere to Rannerdale
The three mile walk starts from the car park of the National Trust area. As you walk along the Sentinels, the most photographed trees in the country, you reach the highest point along the falls in the Lake District, Scale Force. Here, you can have a picturesque picnic on its pretty pebbled beach.
Tom Gill towards Tarn Hows, Coniston
As you start the 1.6 miles walk, you experience the iconic manmade beauty created by a mill owner from Leeds in 1865. The walk is accessible for people with buggies and the disabled using mobile scooters; and people of all age groups can enjoy the leisurely trail. The more adventurous walkers can take the short steep approach to Tom Gill Beck to capture the picturesque landscape across Coniston fells and Wetherlam.
Coniston and Gondola
This is a 4.6 mile walk starting from Coniston pier. The gondolas take you on a boat ride through Bassenthwaite Lake. The trek to the peak of Old Man is a fun experience for walkers around the scenic beauty of the lake. And the hotspot is famous as the nearby Yew Tree Farm featured in the famous film ‘Miss Potter’ about the author behind Beatrix Potter, played by Renee Zellweger.
