Most Romantic Spots in Paris
If you’re looking for romance, you won’t find a better city than Paris – with good value holiday accommodation, fine dining and an abundance of secluded spots to take your loved one, it’s a must for a dreamy weekend away. Well known for its unwavering decadence, Paris is one of the worlds must visit spots for long weekends away. With so many tourist spots in Paris you’re spoilt for choice, so I’ve short-listed the top three so you can make the most of your city break.
The Eiffel Tower
It’s got to be done, and is arguably one of the best tourist spots in Europe. You may be thinking just go to the top for the most romantic view, but that’s not necessarily the best way to rustle up a little romance. Pack a rug, a fresh French picnic and a bottle of bubbly and find a secluded spot in the park below the tower (at sunset if possible) and enjoy the glow of the Eiffel Tower from the ground.
If you do have a head for heights, then a trip to the top is a must this year. By day, the views are spectacular and perfect for simply standing hand in hand with the one you love. However, at night the city comes alive with lights, sounds and a unique beauty. At the top of the tower during the evening, the atmosphere is electric and it may be the best time to view the city if you are a little nervous of heights.
La Tour d’Argent
If you want to treat someone special this year, then why not wine and dine them in one of Paris’s oldest restaurants – La Tour d’Argent. With penthouse panoramic views of the city, the building itself will take your breath away, and that’s before you’ve ever tasted the world class food. The Duck a l’Orange has won many an award and this may be the perfect time to try a selection of traditional French cuisine, mussels, snails and an abundance of cakes. They also happen to have one of the finest collections of wines from all over France. This is not just a meal, but a whole evening of lavishness.
Champs-Élysées
If your loved one is a fan of 1950’s decadence, Holly go Lightly style, then a stroll down Paris’s most famous street is a must. Along the Champs Elyses, there is so much to do and see – the street is lined with cinemas, café and luxury boutiques offering classic French design and high end fashion, each one overflowing with charm. The street is lined with clipped horse-chestnut trees –it feels like your walking straight onto a film set in summer, and at Christmas lights adorn the trees giving off very dulcet tones. If you walk down far enough you’ll come to the Arc de Triomphe, the perfect end to a romantic day.
